Feeding for winter.

An update on how things are in my apiaries. I'm getting ready for winter at the moment and have been treating and now feeding my bees.

Finally had some rain

There hasn't been much rain in our region for the last few months which has affected nectar production. The last few days have been nice and wet and should help the nectaries produce nicely now.

First inspection of the season

I have just got back from my main apiary where I opened up some of the hives there. Most of the colonies are doing well but one is quite weak. So I will be building that up by moving capped brood in from the colony next to it.

Mild temperatures have allowed the bees to get on the wing

The mild weather over the weekend enabled my bees to get out and about.
